Labour Market and Economic Analysis
for the Middle East and North Africa

Who We Are

Silatech's mission is to address youth employment, starting with the Arab world. Middle Eastern and North African countries are faced with unprecedented growth in 18 to 30 year olds. In order to maintain current employment levels, the World Bank estimates that 80 million new jobs will be required.

For this goal to be met, one of the first tasks is to understand the needs of the labour market and the current shape and direction of the economy so the best infrastructure and training investments can be made. Without informed decision-making, we will miss investment opportunities and youth will be directed into work that has a limited future.

Silatech has partnered with EMSI to bring labour market information to light, and to provide a framework to understand a country's economy and provide data-driven analysis. Labour market data is essential to the future well-being of the Arab world, and to youth employment in particular -- a public good necessary for giving the direction of the current generation.

Labour market data, of course, cannot replace human judgement, analysis or due diligence. This is just a starting point, and not the end of the journey.
